IU debuted on 24 September 2008 with her first mini-album, Lost And Found, where she was lauded by many Korean artists and critics to the strong vocals brought the title track, "Missing Child". IU whose real name is Lee Ji Eun, and was born on May 16, 1993

However, the album was not commercially successful. On 16 April 2009, IU's first album titled return to Growing Up, the title track "Boo.". Within three weeks, "Boo" managed to reach the first #1 for SBS Inkigayo. The song was also successful on KBS Music Bank, Mnet Countdown, and various online music charts.

IU is also commonly known cover songs with her guitar, SHINee "Juliette," Big Bang "Lies", Super Junior "Sorry sorry" and SNSD's "Gee".
